The Securities and Exchange Commission has begun to accept financial statements based on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) instead of being based on US GAAP. Also, the FASB has been working with the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) to converge and harmonize the FASB and IFRS standards.
Why should you attend?

- Interactive Discussion Oriented Format
- Obtain tools to effectively manage the future of your team and organization
- Earn 2 CPE Credits
So what does that mean for US companies? Will US GAAP soon be dead? Do all US companies have to convert to IFRS standards? Is this something only publicly traded companies have to worry about? What, if anything, does my company need to do to prepare for the coming of IFRS? IFRS is coming. There is no doubt of that. Yet how can these standards apply to US companies when they are also used by companies in emerging markets and third-world economies? These are the questions and topics that we will discuss and investigate.
